Rolesville Lightning is a track club established under the guidelines of the USATF (United States Association of Track & Field). This is the governing body for track and field in the US, of which we are an organizational member. Because of this, all registered athletes with Rolesville Lightning will become USATF members as well. We function as a non-profit organization relying solely on volunteers and sponsors.
We are currently enrolling youth between 5 and 18 years of age for the upcoming outdoor track and field season. Coaches and parent volunteers are needed as well. If you have a few hours throughout the week to dedicate to youth enrichment please fill out our volunteer form online also. All volunteers must undergo background screenings to participate.
Our desire is to teach every athlete an appreciation for track and field and a healthy lifestyle, while enhancing their self-confidence and descipline through consistent practice, guidance, and an opportunity for competition.

We have established a relationship with Heritage High School in Wake Forest, NC, and hold our weekly track practices there.
In the event of schedule conflicts that keep us from using the track at the school, we will practice on the adjacent field. Don’t worry though! The parking lot between the two practice areas has easy access to both.
In the pre-season (March 1 – April 1), we meet at Rolesville High School for conditioning. We will utilize their trail system and practice fields for that period of time. Once April begins, we move over to Heritage High School’s track.
